Riley Incorporated initially built its reputation on the expertise of director John Riley who is an experienced and renowned criminal law litigator. The company has continued to enjoy success and has grown steadily since inception. New attorneys have joined the team to offer a diverse range of skills and an expanded knowledge base. The practice provides experienced and skilled attention to all its clients, and is now established as a leading full complement law firm able to advise and litigate on a wide spectrum of matters.

Director and founder John Riley has been a part of the legal profession for more than a quarter of a century. In 1991, he founded the legal practice and has led the firm with honour and integrity ever since. Through peer respect John was privileged to be nominated to and serve as an Acting Judge in the Cape High Court, during the first term of 2007,  in 2010 and again between September 2014 to 2016. His years of experience in the profession and supreme legal expertise comprise a winning formula.

The company currently employs four attorneys with a further six support staff, serving many and varied clients. The practice has a firm footing in all the areas of law and all the professionals endeavour to specialise in at least one discipline. Riley Incorporated ensures all support staff have the appropriate training and are kept abreast of current developments in the legal field. This approach and wealth of experience fosters confidence in our clients.

Riley Incorporated’s energetic and innovative legal team and support staff are fully representative of the demographics of South Africa and can provide our clients with expertise in virtually all areas of the law, as well as unique assistance in areas of specialisation.

This is evident in the fact that many of our clients have been part of our practice for several years, with reciprocated loyalty. A large amount of our business comes from referrals from existing clients. Riley Incorporated aims to find practical legal solutions to sometimes seemingly insurmountable legal problems.

“Our drive is to build a business relationship with our clients with the aim of establishing a long-term relationship to which Riley Incorporated can add constructive value.”

OUR FEE STRUCTURE AND LATEST ARTICLES

“Our success is a result of hard work, dedication and commitment to excellent service delivery.”

FEE STRUCTURE

Riley Incorporated adheres to the guidelines laid down for the profession in respect of conveyancing, litigation and commercial matters. We maintain a policy of full transparency in all fee and billing procedures. We brief all clients clearly on what billing involves at the start of the relationship and engage with them on any queries related to the fee structure.
Each attorney bills for time spent on any matter as and when work takes place. This approach ensures accurate and honest billing that itemises every detail that occurs in the clients matter. A flat rate is applied in respect of general attendances by administrative staff, ensuring that clients are not charged excessively for informal attendances to matters such as the drafting of a standard letter or telephone calls made.
Billing rates vary and may be negotiated depending on the complexity of the matter and the particular expertise that may be required in dealing with same.
